EIT Health

In 2016, the International Master in Innovative Medicine was awarded the EIT Label, by the European Institute of Technology, an independent EU body set up in 2008 to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe. The EIT label guarantees that students are trained in excellent programmes and improve their innovative and entrepreneurial skills.

Since the award of the EIT Label, IMIM has been supported by one of EIT’s Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), EIT Health. IMIM was co-funded by EIT Health 2016-2020, and since then we benefit from their continued support through their Recognition Programme. In 2022, we successfully applied for extension of the EIT Label, which was awarded to us for another 2 years last November.

EIT Health works across borders with approximately 150 EIT Health partner organisations and thousands of start-ups and entrepreneurs, bringing together the brightest minds in healthcare to answer some of the biggest health challenges Europe faces.

EIT Health Goals

Strengthening healthcare systems in Europe

“We want to overcome obstacles to innovation so we can improve healthcare delivery in Europe and make life-changing solutions possible. By working together, we can remove barriers across borders to create a more resilient and dynamic European healthcare system.”

Promoting better health of citizens

“European citizens and patients sit at the centre of our organisation. That’s why we’re engaging people at every stage; raising awareness, sharing knowledge and creating the tools, treatment and breakthrough solutions which will promote healthy living and active ageing.”

Contributing to a sustainable health economy in Europe

“We want to create a fertile environment in which innovation can flourish. By building health enterprises and bringing innovative products and services to market, we can create new jobs to grow and strengthen a sustainable European economy.”
